Schwenk Zement GmbH & Co. KG - Special Operating Plan for Aftercare and Backfilling of the Kreuzhalde Anhydrite Mine, Germany

DHC was commissioned to prepare a special operating plan for the Kreuzhalde anhydrite mine in Vellberg. The project focuses on the development of a comprehensive aftercare and backfilling concept in accordance with mining law requirements, with the objective of ensuring long-term operational safety, environmental compatibility, and the controlled stabilisation of underground mine workings.

The scope includes the assessment of geological and geotechnical boundary conditions, the development of a technical backfilling concept, the definition of suitable backfill materials and logistics, and the preparation of monitoring, safety, environmental protection, scheduling, and cost concepts. The final deliverable is a complete, transparent, and approval-ready special operating plan for submission to the competent mining authority.

This project highlights DHC’s expertise in mine closure planning, underground backfilling, geotechnical risk management, and regulatory documentation for mining operations.
